Egg & Bean Breakfast Café

        Egg and Bean is a breakfast café that serves the Tallahassee community through the nourishment of body and mind. The space features a Lending Library for the exchange of books, and a Propagation Station where visitors can tend to plants in the café. An outdoor gathering area features dining and picnic spaces for hosting events, including live music from local musicians. Our guests set the tone for their day in our lively space, invigorating their senses and bringing positivity with them after they leave. Moving beyond the plate, Egg and Bean provides a space for fostering positive communal engagement within all demographics to inspire positivity and provide a place to step out of the busy flow of life.

        Egg and Bean will be a place driven by this philosophy of optimism, believing that a positive worldview can benefit both individuals and the community they reside in. This will be expressed by using a bright color palette that inspires an energetic and uplifting environment. Fullness in forms will be addressed through changes in the ceiling plane, driven by curvilinear lines which provide a sense of ease and comfort. Hierarchy in the space will be driven by the ideology of equally accessible areas, promoting inclusivity. Movement will be found in the strategic transitions of textures and materials throughout the space, establishing variety and visual interest. The result is a social house that nourishes beyond the food on a plate, providing an overflowing sense of optimism that visitors fill their cup with at every visit. While the café is open to anyone, its design caters to college students, artistically minded individuals, and families.
